Re: Avoiding the Gatineau Loppet races on the weekend of Feb 18 & 19
 
 
Gatineau Loppet is a major cross-country ski event that will be taking place in the Gatineau Park  February 17, 18 & 19, 2012.

I�m not sure about the NCC�s policies or schedule for accommodating the Gatineau Loppet in the Gatineau Park.  However, none of the Loppet races extend into the upper part of the park (the Northwest area). This includes the trails from P16, P17, and P19.

It should also be noted most the Loppet activities will be  centered in the bottom part of the park (around the Asticou area, P1 and P2). A few of the longer races will extend further into the Gatineau Park (including some of the popular areas around the Champlain Lookout and the Keogan and Huron cabins). However, these races should be completed by noon, so I suspect they will not interfere with recreational skiing in the afternoon.
