The Fire Tower is located at the end of trail # 1 (about 2.5 kilometres
past the McKinstry cabin). It was built in the 1940s and was used for 30
years by Rangers to spot forest fires. It is no longer in use as a fire
tower, but the structure is fitted with antennas.
