Trails # 21 & # 22- P4 on Timm Drive

Trails # 21 and # 22 are located in Stony Swamp NCC Greenbelt (west-end Ottawa). The starting point is the P4 Parking Lot off Timm Drive. Total distance is a little under 5 kilometres.    ( scroll down for photos )

The Kanata Cross-Country Ski Club maintains these NCC trails. Trail # 21 passes through a forested area - mainly Cedar trees - which can sometime leave debris on the snow. The surface of the trail can be somewhat uneven, especially early in the season when there is a limited snow base. The east end is located on a wider trail which is more open (you can see the old train bridge over Robertson Road in the distance). Trail # 22 is slightly nicer than # 21. It is in a wooded area, but has open spots. The setting for these two trails is surrounded by roads, which means that nearby traffic can often be heard and sometimes seen.
